Administration
Amina Babar
Chief Executive Officer
Amina Babar serves as Chief Executive Officer of Synergy Medical, bringing a unique combination of health economics expertise, entrepreneurial vision, and a deep commitment to addressing healthcare inequality. Amina earned her Master’s degree in Health Economics from the University of York in the United Kingdom, where she developed expertise in healthcare systems, resource allocation, and the economic factors that drive health outcomes. Her background spans economics and finance, with a particular focus on how innovative business models can improve access to quality care. Before co-founding Synergy Medical, Amina demonstrated her commitment to social impact by founding Civil, a nonprofit organization in her home country of Pakistan that provided meals to underprivileged children. Outside the office, Amina enjoys cooking recipes from different cultures, traveling to new places, and shopping at HomeGoods (while Dr. Essam chases their toddler through the aisles). Amina’s vision for Synergy Medical extends beyond individual patient care. She sees the practice as a model for how obesity medicine should be delivered: comprehensive, medically sophisticated, and accessible to the communities that need it most.
