Modern healthcare has a problem. We built Synergy to fix it.
Seven-minute visits. Rushed prescriptions for symptoms that deserve real answers. Automated phone trees. Referrals handed off and never followed up on.
This is what most American healthcare looks like. And it's not what medicine is supposed to be.
We built Synergy around a different standard — one we'd want for our own families. Unhurried time. A team that knows your story. And a phone line that a real person actually picks up.
Here's how that looks in practice.
When you call, a real person answers.
Not a menu. Not an AI assistant. Not a call center routed to another state.
During business hours, you'll reach someone who works in our office, knows our providers, and can actually help you — schedule an appointment, get a question to the doctor, or sort out an insurance issue on the spot. After hours, you'll reach voicemail, and we return calls promptly the next business day.
This is the first signal to our patients that we operate differently.
Unhurried visits, with providers who know you.
The single biggest complaint patients have about modern healthcare: "My doctor doesn't listen."
There's a reason. The average primary care visit in the U.S. is under eight minutes. Physicians at high-volume practices are pressured to see 25 or more patients a day. There isn't time to listen, and there isn't time to think.
At Synergy, visits are built around delivering outstanding and individualized care:
- New patient visits are unhurried (expect 20-40 minutes) — enough time to actually understand your history, your goals, and what you're worried about
- Follow-ups are purposeful — we respect your time and will follow up only as frequent as necessary
- We keep your team small and consistent — so the provider you see knows your story, your history, and your plan.

Integrated care — including our on-site fitness studio.
Most primary care offices tell you to eat better and exercise more, then send you out the door to figure it out alone.
That's not how behavior change works. And it's not how we practice medicine.
Our office includes a fitness studio — designed for supervised, medically appropriate exercise sessions. For patients managing chronic conditions, post-hospitalization, or starting a weight loss journey. It's a real, on-site resource your physician can refer you to and monitor over time.
Exercise isn't separate from your medical care at Synergy. It's part of it — built into the same building, coordinated with your treatment plan, and supervised by people who know your health history.
This is what the "synergy" in our name refers to: medical care, exercise, and nutrition working together, in one place, under one team.
An office that doesn't feel like a medical office.
Most medical offices are designed for efficiency, not happiness. Fluorescent lights, vinyl chairs, outdated furniture that hardly tries to impress. The environment itself signals hurry up, get processed, move along.
Our Lewisville office is designed differently. A calm, welcoming lobby. Comfortable seating. Thoughtful lighting. Exam rooms that feel less like inspection booths and more like spaces built for a real conversation.
The point is that the space supports the kind of care we're trying to practice — warm, relaxed, and with attention to detail.
Insurance accepted — without letting it compromise your care.
A lot of concierge-style practices get the unhurried part right by refusing insurance entirely and charging thousands of dollars a year in membership fees.
We took a different path. Synergy accepts most major insurance — BCBS Texas, Aetna, Cigna, Medicare, Baylor Scott & White, and First Health Network — so that unhurried, relationship-based care isn't just reserved for patients who can afford to pay out of pocket.

Led by a dual board-certified physician.
Synergy Health was co-founded by Dr. Essam Rashad, who is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Obesity Medicine — a dual certification held by fewer than 1% of U.S. physicians.
Every Synergy patient is reviewed by Dr. Rashad or a physician-supervised advanced practice provider working under his direction and clinical protocols. As the practice grows, every new clinician will be trained in the Synergy approach and held to the same standard of care.
Come see what the difference feels like.
The only way to really understand the Synergy Difference is to experience it. Most new patients can be seen within the same week.
